The Cancer Survivors Park Alliance hosted a celebration of International Cancer Survivors Day on June 7 at Cancer Survivors Park in Greenville.

The 39th celebration featured refreshments and activities designed to celebrate survivors and share resources. Among the activities and features were reiki, yoga, fly fishing lessons, therapy dogs, survivor ribbons and children’s princess visits.

Legacy Early College held its Class of 2026 commencement May 21 at Bob Jones University.

Of 89 graduates, 81 accepted college offers at institutions including Davidson, Clemson, Furman and the University of South Carolina.

A Greenville County Memorial Day Observation was held at 10 a.m. May 25. The event, moved inside, included a Revolutionary War Patriots dedication.⁠

The guest speakers: Historian Durant Ashmore and others to include federal, state and local officials. A wreath ceremony was scheduled by DAR, Behethland Butler Chapter.⁠

The observation was sponsored by Greenville County Veterans Affairs, Sons of the American Revolution, Upcountry History Museum of Greenville County and Greenville County.

Photos: 2026 Take Flight 5K Memorial Day weekend at Greenville Downtown Airport

The 2026 Take Flight 5K to benefit Runway Park at Greenville Downtown Airport was held May 23, 2026. The pre-race event included a Memorial Day weekend ceremony. Proceeds will help with the purchasing of future playground equipment at Runway Park. The yearly run raised $48,000, according to event organizers.

Milestone: Ponthieux’s Jewelry Design Studio celebrates 25 years in Greenville

Ponthieux’s Jewelry Design Studio celebrated 25 years with an event with the unveiling of a custom-designed pendant created in collaboration with customers.

“For us, 25 years is less about a milestone and more about the people who have trusted us with some of the most meaningful moments in their lives,” said founder Mike Ponthieux in a statement. “This celebration is an opportunity to reflect on that and to say thank you in a way that brings everyone together.”

Ponthieux, founded in 2001, offers a full range of services, including custom jewelry design, repairs, appraisals and restorations. The studio is located at 1922 Augusta Street, Suite 103 in Greenville.

The pendant will be auctioned at the 16th annual TD Synnex Share the Magic celebration Oct. 10 at the Greenville Convention Center. TD Synnex Share the Magic benefits Make-A-Wish South Carolina, A Child’s Haven, Clement’s Kindness, Pendleton Place and this year’s President’s Choice Charity, The Meyers Center.
